DESCRIPTION:SJCBC members\, \nTentative reservations are in place for a New Years outing at Roland & Martin Marina in Clewiston\, Fl. \nArrival date is Monday December 30th\, staying 2 nights\, departing January 1st. A block of dock space for 8 vessels is being held but boat captains must call and leave a credit card on file. \nDockage is $3.00 Ft. or $2.75 for Boat US members. The boat trip is about 90 statute miles with 3 locks on route and the locks close at 4:30 daily so plan your trip accordingly. \nOur contact is Lacie and she has plenty of rooms available at $160 a night plus tax. Efficiencies at $199 night and 2-bedroom condos at $350 a night with a 3-night minimum. RV sites are $40 night but in short supply (2 or 3) so please call quickly. There are also rooms in Clewiston\, about 2 miles away. \nWe will have a happy hour on or near the docks on both afternoon/evenings and dinners at one of the 2 restaurants both nights. They have live music in the Tiki Hut. We will have yard games (Cornhole etc.) both days. SUMMARY:Service to remember Marty Renkes
DESCRIPTION:I’m sad to have to share that our fellow SJC Boat Club member\, Marty Renkes passed on May 16 after a long battle with cancer. \n\n\nMarty was such a joy to be around.  She was happy when everyone else was happy!  She genuinely enjoyed everyone’s company and she let you know it. She always made you feel welcome. Marty was so excited to host our first boat club meeting at the St. James  Civic center in March.\n\nHer kind spirit and happy heart will be missed.\n\nA service to remember Marty will be held Monday May 20 at the Pine Island Community Church. Visitation will be from 10- 11am followed by a service from 11am – noon and then a luncheon at 12:15. Phil invited all boat club members to attend. Please keep Phil and all of Marty’s family in your thoughts and prayers during this time.

DESCRIPTION:SJC Boat Club Kite Flying event planned for April at the Pink Shell Marina on Fort Myers Beach. \nClubbers – please RSVP so plans can be finalized and enough dock space is reserved. \n\nThe Kite Flying event will take place on the beach area just north of the resort from 10:30 AM until noon on Thursday the 11th.\n\nLunch will be served (Menu TBD) at the Marina at 12:30. Sides will be needed and judges for awards will be needed.\n\n Award ceremony following lunch. Balance of day & evening is at boater’s discretion. Free tram service (open bus) runs continuously to Times Square and has a stop directly in front of Pink Shell. An enclosed bus runs further south and has a $.75 PP charge and also has a Pink Shell and Time’s Square stop.\n\n\nDenny & Karen Bunce

DESCRIPTION:SJC Boat Club Kite Flying event planned for April. Thanks\, Denny & Karen Bunce and Denny & Andrea Decker for pulling this plan together! It will be so nice to get back on the beach again!!! \nClubbers – please RSVP so plans can be finalized and enough dock space is reserved. \nFun times ahead!!! \n\nAll\,\n\nIn keeping with the tradition of Ken & Krista’s annual Kite Fly\, Karen & I\, with help from Denny & Andrea Dekker\, will host a 2 night overnight boating event at Pink Shell Marina on Ft. Myers Beach. The Marina will also hold enough room for day boats on the day of the Kite Fly.\n\nThe overnight boats will arrive on Wednesday April 10th after 11:00 AM. A “Happy Hour” will commence at 5;00 PM and a potluck dinner on the Marina patio area (Menu TBD) following. Sides are welcome. Both day’s events are open to anyone from the club. If you are without an overnight boat and want to participate in the Wednesday night event\, Pink Shell or other nearby resorts may have rooms available.
