Boater Safety Course Jan 22 8:00 am - 5:00am St. James City Civic Center Boating enthusiasts seeking to expand their avareness of sound boating safety practices and obtaining the Florida Boating Safety Education I.D. Card are encouraged to enroll in the upcoming Boat America, one-day course being offered by Flotilla gr of the USCG Auxiliary and the St. lames City Civic Association. Chili Cookoff: Thursday Jan 30, 3-5PM at the St. James City Civic Center Chilli Cookoff Information: Thursday January 30 at the St. James Civic Center Starting at 4:30 ( We will be setting up at 3:30 if anyone wishes to come and help) Judging at 6PM Cleanup and knock down at 6:30. There may be other groups there before or near the end , we will work around them. The Following members have said they will participate. Hello to all fellow members, The February meeting will be held at Mickey and Jodi’s place on Monday, February 10th starting at 4:30. Our co-hosts are Sandy, Beth, the Nattress’s, the Smiths and the Komps. The address is 3206 York Road and parking is available at the house, our lot north side and across the street and grass area around the preserve. The main course will be grilled smoked sausage, peppers & onions. Please bring either a side dish to complement the meal, an appetizer or dessert. The usual drinks will be provided and a donation of $10pp will be collected. Please RSVP by Saturday the 8th to Jodi at 305-498-5371 or yorkie2jodi@yahoo.com. Valentines Day lunch cruise is February 12 at Menarcos in Cape Coral, rain or shine! Lew offered a kayak paddle on Thursday 2/13 at 10am at Four Winds Marina in Bokeelia. This is a chance to explore another beautiful part of our island.
Judy Burt shared information about a 2/15 Calusa Island cleanup from 9am to noon. The cleanup includes Calusa island, surrounding mangroves and water including Jug Creek and the Calusa Blueway. Carmen’s Kayaks (239-333-7332 and CarmansKayaks.com) will provide kayaks for participants who need them. Starting point is Kinght’s Landing, 16499 Porto Bello St, Bokeelia.
