lunch cruise to Rum Runners in Cape Coral for 12/18. The restaurant opens at noon, so please plan on arriving at the docks by 11:30 to secure a spot, since docking is limited. Please let Lew know if you are coming, in addition he has spots available if anyone needs a ride.
SJCBC members, Tentative reservations are in place for a New Years outing at Roland & Martin Marina in Clewiston, Fl. Arrival date is Monday December 30th, staying 2 nights, departing January 1st. A block of dock space for 8 vessels is being held but boat captains must call and leave a credit card on file. Dockage is $3.00 Ft. or $2.75 for Boat US members. The boat trip is about 90 statute miles with 3 locks on route and the locks close at 4:30 daily so plan your trip accordingly. Our contact is Lacie and she has plenty of rooms available at $160 a night plus tax. Efficiencies at $199 night and 2-bedroom condos at $350 a night with a 3-night minimum. Our first meeting of the year is Monday, January 13 at the St James Civic Center at 4:30 pm. Our hosts are Rod and Janet Russell, with co-hosts Mark and Judy Burt, Tom and Gretchen Cook and Kevin and Paula Griffiths. The main course is chicken wings. Please bring a dessert, appetizer or side dish to share. $10 per person will be collected. Also please bring fresh ideas for new boating adventures for the coming year. Boater Safety Course Jan 22 8:00 am - 5:00am St. James City Civic Center Boating enthusiasts seeking to expand their avareness of sound boating safety practices and obtaining the Florida Boating Safety Education I.D. Card are encouraged to enroll in the upcoming Boat America, one-day course being offered by Flotilla gr of the USCG Auxiliary and the St. lames City Civic Association. Our co-hosts are Sandy, Beth, the Nattress’s, the Smiths and the Komps. The address is 3206 York Road and parking is available at the house, our lot north side and across the street and grass area around the preserve. The main course will be grilled smoked sausage, peppers & onions. Please bring either a side dish to complement the meal, an appetizer or dessert. Valentines Day lunch cruise is February 12 at Menarcos in Cape Coral, rain or shine!
